Eve-teasing is a social evil that the women folk are facing today. It violates the basic right of a woman to live in dignity. It really makes the life of the young girls miserable. There are so many cases of Eve-teasing happening all over the country.
Take in case of in the crowded bus girls are pinched, pushed and insulted. While in road they are commented, chased and whistled upon. Even obscene remarks are passed on them. In this man dominated world majority of women is tolerating all these evils patiently as raising their voice may result in various adverse effects....
This eve-teasing is a crime which is not taken so seriously by the police or authorities. . Women are afraid to bring such complaints to the notice of the police because these eve-teasers are not properly punished. Its really horrible to say that Eve-teasing is something that the Indian women is facing in her everyday life....
What can be done to put a stop to this Social evil ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
As far as eve teasing is concerned, the Indian women are doing nothing regarding this... They just ignore the eve teaser... Do they have to stop at that because they are the weaker sex? I think they need to stand up for their rights and do something about it. But that rarely happens, and all that they do is sit at home and do nothing, while other girls are being harassed outside at the same time. Steps must be taken that would make eve-teasers shudder the next time they think about teasing a girl. Parents should encourage their daughters to face the world with courage and not to fear or bother about the minor incidents.
Instead of just complaining, some action should be taken wisely.... This is a problem that needs to be solved by society and this can be done by educating them at a young age.
Some other preventive measures that i think could be taken to stop eve-teasing to some extend are:
1.The Parents should educate their boys to respect the girl community.
2.Girls should stop wearing provoking outfits like mini skirts, mini tops, tight jeans etc which would portray vulgar looks . Its better to wear traditional attaires.
3.Girls should avoid going out alone without the company of a relative or parent or any friend mainly during the night times.
At the same time, there should be strict rules and those involved in the eve teasing should be punished/fined.
The Indian government has already passed many laws against eve teasing. The main issue is in educating Indians about gender equality and the rights of women. Public awareness should be spread against the ill-effects of eve-teasing....
The ad video below depicts how an old man comes forward to rescue a young girl who is being teased... Likewise its time for each and every citizen to Raise our voice against this social evil and Act accordingly....
